HIA Founding Principal
Greetings,
Welcome to Hsinchu International Academy (HIA)! It is with much pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction. I consider myself privileged to serve as the Founding Principal at HIA. Collaborating with our founding team members to bring HIA from concept to reality has been a highlight of my career. The HIA staff and I cannot wait to begin this journey with you and your family.
My previous leadership experience has taught me the importance of listening as a crucial first step to building strong, trusting, collaborative relationships within a community. It will be a pleasure working with each of you in the HIA family on this effort. Culture and community are the cornerstones that lead a school from good to great. I am a hands-on administrator, focused on accountability, data-driven analysis, goal setting, shared leadership, and capacity building for our staff. I promote continuous development and will be actively engaged with the entire HIA community.
Likewise, I strongly believe in developing the whole child. Academic learning cannot be realized without social-emotional learning. Our rich advisory program helps our students develop their character and life skills. I adhere to a core set of values that I believe are critical to all institutions of learning, and specifically for HIA. In our learning community these characteristics are embodied in our Lion "PRIDE" values.
I understand the impact that a strong and positive culture has on our community,particularly on the success and growth of our scholars. In keeping with this, my personal leadership mission echoes HIA's Mission: "To nurture an atmosphere that fosters academic excellence, inspires our learners to be confident, creative, compassionate, scientific thinkers who develop a joy for collaborative lifelong learning, guiding them to reach their full potential and to be successful anywhere in the world."
It’s important to know that I hold high expectations - for myself, our staff, our faculty, our students, and for all of our families. Together, we are the “community” that will drive success for our students.
In closing, I take great pride in investing my time and effort into ensuring that staff, teachers, students, and families feel supported and part of an inclusive community. I look forward to each step of this exciting journey and Hsinchu International Academy's opening in August 2023.
